1991 My Girl directed by Howard Zieff.

“I have chosen a family movie that will leave a mark in your heart no matter your age. The movie features Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis and Macaulay Culkin but the star of the movie is Vada Sultenfuss (Anna Chlumsky). She delivers a wonderful performance as she takes you along with her on the story of a young girl going through the Ups and downs of an unforgettable summer in 1972. Definetly a movie to watch as a family but be prepared for many questions from your kids, as they get exposed to menstruation, first kisses and older love crushes.
A Memorable line is after she has her first period Vada says to Thomas J “Get out of here and come back in five to seven days” another is when she says “where are his glasses, he can’t see without his glasses” this when Thomas J lies in his coffin. I must admit this last line made the tears break out from my eyes as I did my best to unsuccessfully keep them in. The sound track makes you join in various times especially when My Girl (Temptations) plays. A movie that brings the family closer together with lots of I love you and kisses between yourselfs when it ends. It delivers a really strong message on the gift of pure friendship and how the best things in life are right in front of us. Make sure you cry, kiss and say I love you to all those you get to watch it with.”
